Director of Technology nominated for Phoenix Business Journal award

Lisa Hunter
Prisma is proud to announce that we have nominated Lisa Hunter, our Director of Technology, for Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 awards. The 40 Under 40 awards celebrate 40 individuals under the age of 40 who push the Phoenix business community forward with their achievements and innovation.

And Lisa Hunter does just that for Prisma. When she started at the University of Arizona, she didn’t see many women in the tech sector. “Women have a clear place in digital innovation,” she said. “We provide a different perspective. I’ve noticed that women sometimes empathize more readily with the user, which is enormously important in tech development. It’s not enough to ask, ‘Does this program work?’ We have to put ourselves in the user’s shoes and ask, ‘How does it work for me? How could it serve me better?’”

Lisa has been asking and answering those questions daily since she joined the Prisma team as Director of Technology in 2012. Since that time, she has pursued development and innovation in infrastructure, security, hardware and software development.

Chief Executive Officer Bob Anderson credits her with helping take Prisma from a traditional boutique printing company to a cutting-edge, full-service marketing solutions provider.

“At Prisma, we are leading the way in marketing supply chain services, working for major companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield, Starwood Resorts and Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen,” he said. “We are constantly expanding and enhancing our proprietary technology, and Lisa is leading that charge.”

Before becoming an integral piece of Prisma leadership, Lisa earned a degree from U of A in Management Information Systems and Marketing. She began her career at Accenture before moving on to Embry Properties. Lisa also founded her own consulting firm, LEHunter Consulting, where she focused on IT Project Management and Technical Writing.

Prisma President Simon Beltran believes Lisa is eminently suited for the Phoenix Business Journal 40 Under 40 award. “Lisa’s perseverance, innovation and can-do attitude make her a ‘rock star’ business leader. She approaches each challenge as an opportunity for improvement, constantly raising the bar,” he said. “Lisa is unusual in the information technology space in that she is able to connect with both developers and clients. She has the knowledge and experience to lead complicated tech projects, and the people skills to communicate effectively with clients who might have only a layman’s understanding of IT. She acts as a bridge or translator between those two worlds, creating a seamless experience for our clients.”

The entire Prisma team congratulates Lisa on her nomination.
